Who compiles this comparison, and how it's funded
Reel Briefing exists to give readers a plain, checkable starting point among UK-licensed casino sites. This page sets out what that involves, what it doesn't, and how the site pays for itself while doing it.
Reel Briefing is an independent, affiliate-funded comparison site. We research and score UK-licensed casino operators against fixed criteria. We don't run games, take bets, hold deposits or manage anyone's account — every one of those functions belongs to the operator, not to us.
What this site is for
Most people who land on a casino comparison page already have a rough idea what they're looking for; what they're usually missing is a way to check it without opening six tabs and reading six sets of terms. Reel Briefing puts the operators next to each other on the same criteria — licence status, game range, live casino, mobile experience, game studios, welcome offer type, support and overall usability — so that comparison can happen on one page instead of six.
The current line-up leans toward newcomer-friendliness: how quickly someone who has never used the site before can register, understand what's on offer and find the casino section without getting lost in a wider sportsbook or bingo menu.
What we do and don't do
What we do
- Check each operator's UK Gambling Commission licence against the public register.
- Compare game range, live casino, mobile experience and support across a fixed set of criteria.
- Write an operator-specific description grounded in features we can verify.
- Recheck licence data and refresh write-ups on a regular schedule — see our Editorial Policy.
- Link to independent UK safety resources on every page.
What we don't do
- We don't operate any casino, slot or betting product.
- We don't accept deposits, process withdrawals or hold player funds.
- We don't open, manage or have visibility into any reader's account with an operator.
- We don't let an operator see or approve its write-up before we publish it.
- We don't accept payment to move an operator's score, regardless of commission paid.
How the site makes money
Reel Briefing is funded through affiliate commission: if a reader signs up with an operator through a link on this site, we may be paid a fee by that operator. The reader pays nothing extra as a result. Which operators we feature can be shaped by which ones run affiliate programmes we can join, but the comparison itself — the licence checks, the scores, the descriptions — is produced independently of that commercial relationship. The full detail sits on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
A note on scope
This is a comparison and information resource, not a government service and not connected to the UK Gambling Commission or any regulator. If you want to check a licence yourself rather than take our word for it, the UKGC public register is open to anyone.
